In June 1993, Alfredo Buglioni purchased an old farmhouse surrounded by 9.6 acres of vineyards and 4.9 acres of olive groves in Valpolicella Classico, northwest of Verona, Italy. And, with a vision and passion, the Buglioni family soon became 'real' winemakers
In 2000, Diego Bertoni from the Oenology Institute of San Michele all’Adige became the winery’s enologist and Buglioni’s wine production extended to 46 hectares of incredible vineyards planted directly with the traditional indigenous varietals of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara
To mark this special place, and the special wines that emanate from here, the Sommeliers of PIVENE have curated a beautiful bundle of 4 signature Amarone, Valpolicella and Ripasso expressions that truly reflect the spirit of Buglioni To start, luxuriate with two vintages of the amazing Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico ‘Il Lussurioso’ (from 2017 and 2018) and experience wines that have strength and elegance, all in one. Deep shades of plum and aromas of raisin, dark cherry, coffee and leather lead to a classic, lingering finish. From there, enjoy the Valpollicella Superiore Classico Imperfetto 2018 with its notes of ripe red fruit, its deep ruby red colour and its elegant aromas of black cherry, spices and vanilla. And finally, appreciate the Valpollicella Superiore Classico Ripasso 2018, often referred to as ‘Baby Amarone’ and a wine packed with sumptuous flavours of juicy black cherry and raspberry enveloped in a soft velvety richness.
Buglioni is passion in Valpolicella. Theirs is a story of fortune, commitment and conviction. A story of Viticulture.
