A moderately toasty nose is suffused with a mildly annoying level of menthol on the otherwise fresh and pretty notes of earth, dark currant and violet. The supple and round middle weight flavors possess an attractive vibrancy that also suffuses the lingering and delicious finish. With that said, this is at once on the lighter side yet the tannins are firmer than usual. In sum, while this has attributes to like, it's awkward and not especially harmonious and it's difficult to predict if it will eventually come together.
