The 2018 Chardonnay Passobianco is understated with notes of sweet white flowers, ripe pear and hints of almond paste. It’s silky in texture, round in feel and rich, ushering in dried peaches and vanilla bean. A subtle twist of minerality punctuates the experience, along with a hint of sour melon, yet the 2018 never comes fully into focus, and it leaves me longing for further depths.
