Made in amphorae, the Buglioni 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Amphora Teste Dure is closed in a thick wax capsule and packaged in a heavy glass bottle. This is a spicy and elaborate wine that delivers lots of intensity in terms of it secondary or aged aromas. This is a soft and silky wine that shows an elegant mouthfeel that also promises power and big intensity. The alcohol content is an extremely high 17%, which is a quality I like less. There is some lingering sweetness and tannic astringency. It is opulent and overdone in every sense of those words. This is a production of 3,213 numbered bottles made with 60% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta and 5% Croatina.
