The 2014 Couvent des Jacobins is a much more harmonious bouquet compared to the Clos des Jacobins (I wonder how many get the two confused!). Here there is attractive red cherry and crushed strawberry scents, the oak neatly integrated and retaining fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry: black cherries, cassis and a hint of licorice. There is certainly good density in the mouth and the finish feels solid yet not imposing, allowing attractive sous-bois and cedar notes to flourish on the aftertaste.
It was built in 1389 and is now the tasting room of the estate. The vineyard spreads over 10.7 hectares with three grape varieties : merlot, cabernet franc and petit-verdot since 2010.
