The 2025 Riesling Scharzhof is made from fruit grown in Wiltinger Braunfels, Oberemmeler Rosenberg and Saarburger Rausch, supplemented with Scharzhofberg and Braune Kupp. It was fermented spontaneously, chiefly in stainless steel with some Fuder. Reduction still defines the nose with its smokiness. The wine underneath is a whole cornucopia of fruit: apricot, pale peach, apple and an array of citrus appear, but it is the citrus that takes the lead, setting the tone and direction. Zestiness lends both freshness and mouthfeel to this downright thirst-quenching wine. (Medium)
