The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru offers attractive scents of walnut and smoke, yellow flowers and linseed oil. There is a cheeky Riesling-like element to this Chassagne. The palate is well balanced with pineapple, nectarine, Satsumas and ginger stem, mixed with a pinch of white pepper towards the finish. Good energy here, not a long-term prospect, yet a well-made and involving white Burgundy.
